Ignition Control Module Replacement for Chevrolet Chevy C Silverado - 2WD 2005
Removal Procedure
- Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to
Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
- Disconnect the ignition coil driver electrical connector (3).
- Remove ignition control module (2) screws.
- Remove the ignition control module (2) and heat sink (3).
Installation Procedure
- Position the ignition control module (2) and heat sink (3).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install ignition control module (2) screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).
- Connect the ignition coil driver electrical connector (3).
- Install the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to
Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement.
