Wheel Cylinder Replacement for Chevrolet Chevy C Silverado - 2WD 2006
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution in the Preface section.
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.
- Remove the rear brake shoes. Refer to
Brake Shoe Replacement
.
- Disconnect the brake line from the wheel cylinder.
- Plug or cap the brake line fitting as not to allow the brake fluid to become contaminated.
- Remove the wheel cylinder bolts.
- Remove the wheel cylinder.
Installation Procedure
- Install the wheel cylinder.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the wheel cylinder bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Remove the plug or cap from the brake line fitting.
- Connect the brake line to the wheel cylinder.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).
- Install the rear brake shoes. Refer to
Brake Shoe Replacement
.
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
.
- Check the master cylinder fluid level, add fluid if necessary. Refer
Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling
