Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection for Chevrolet Chevy K Silverado - 4WD 2001

1. Remove the oil pan gasket (2) from the groove in the oil pan (1).
2. Clean the oil pan in solvent.

Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.

3. Dry with compressed air.
4. Inspect the oil pan for the following conditions:

•	The drain plug hole for damaged threads

•	Gouges or damage to the oil pan sealing surfaces

•	Cracks or damage to the exterior of the oil pan

•	Damage to the oil level indicator tube area

•	Damage to the oil pan gasket
