Vehicle Input Speed Sensor Replacement for Chevrolet Chevy Suburban - 4WD 2002
Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Disconnect the input speed sensor (1) electrical connector.
- Remove the input speed sensor bolt.
- Remove the input speed sensor (1) and the bracket assembly from
the case.
- Inspect the vehicle speed sensor assembly (1) for any evidence
of damage.
Installation Procedure
- Lubricate the input speed sensor seal
with automatic transmission fluid.
- Install the input speed sensor (1) and the bracket assembly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 11 N·m (96 lb in).
- Connect the input speed sensor electrical connector.
- Lower the vehicle.
