Transmission Vent Tube Replacement for Chevrolet SSR 2005

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
3. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.
4. Remove the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement in Frame and Underbody.
5. Lower the jack to gain access to the top of the transmission .
6. Remove the retaining bolt (1) for the vent tube.
7. Remove the vent tube (2) from the vent pipe.

1. Install the vent tube (2) to the vent pipe.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the retaining bolt for the vent hose (1).

Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

3. Raise the jack.
4. Install the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement in Frame and Underbody.
5. Remove the jack.
6. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
7. Lower the vehicle.
