Brake Hose Inspection for Pontiac Grand Prix 1999

The flexible hydraulic brake hoses transmit hydraulic pressure from the steel brake lines on the body to the calipers. Inspect the hoses at least twice a year.

Inspect the brake hoses for the following conditions:

   •

  • Road hazard damage
    •    • 
    Object Number: 179306 Size: SH
  • Cracks
    •    • 
  • Chafing of the outer cover
    •    • 
    Object Number: 179424 Size: SH
  • Leaks
    •    • 
  • Blisters
    •    • 
  • Proper routing and mounting

    • Use a light and a mirror for an adequate inspection. Replace any hoses with any of the above conditions.
